The variety of weapons used in the Viking Period is limited but there is still much to be confused or misinformed about .
I try here to give information and indications about how they may have been used.
Anyone telling you they know how these weapons were used in detail is almost certainly wrong. We do not know precisely how Romans used swords for fighting despite being told by ancient writers - because the writers were not fighters - so how much we can know about a period with almost no historical documentation or graphical art?
